PATIENT ACCESS:Please see our statement (below) of intent regarding online appointment booking, repeat prescriptions and access to electronic records.

Online Statement of Intent 26 09 2014

Mitchison Road Surgery and its patient list will be handed over to NHS England at the end of July 2015. The partners have taken the difficult decision to resign following pressures around the lease of premises, retention and recruitment of clinical staff, finances and workload. We have tried our utmost to find a way of continuing to provide high quality care to our patients, but the partners now feel unable to take the practice forward.

We are working closely with NHS England, who are conducting a consultation with patients and stakeholders to determine the best way to provide GP services for the patients after July 2015. Patients have received letters asking for their responses.  Two patient consultation meetings were held on 23 April at 2pm and 6pm at Harecourt United Reform Church, St Pauls Rd N1 2LR.

No decision about the future provision of GP services at Mitchison Road will be made until the consultation is completed.

The Doctors at Mitchison Road Surgery have resigned and their last day will be 31 July 2015.

Update from Patient Consultation Meetings with NHS England about the future of Mitchison Road

Thank you to all patients who attended the two consultation meetings held on 23.4.15.

The consultation on the future of the practice ends on 8.5.2015.

We encourage all patients to please send their consultation feedback forms to NHSE by then.

Patients will be informed about the outcome of the consultation by mid June 2015.

At the meeting the two options for the practice were explained and discussed in more detail. The decision will depend on the outcome of the consultation.

The two options are:

  • Another Organisation may be brought in (procured) to run an NHS GP practice from the current premises. If so, then existing patients will remain registered.
  • The practice may close. This option can only happen if other local GP practices have enough space so that patients have a reasonable choice of where else they can register.

The current GPs will continue to provide services until 31.7.2015.

We understand patients are anxious, but you do not need to do anything until the decision is known.
